Pros and cons of Clifford's BE BIG with Words app for iPhone and iPad
Clifford's BE BIG with Words app good for
What a great game to help young kids learn letters and letter sounds! I love it!
My 5 year old really enjoys the game. Construct 3 letter words and Jetta paints them for you. I wish there was more Clifford or Emily Elizabeth though.
This is such a great game since it has appeal to both little and bigger kids.
I even like it!
There are NO mistakes to be made in this game, which is the best part.
You place letters in their spaces then Elizabeth makes a painting based on the word you created! A nice element of surprise.
He has learned that you need to put the first letter in the first space and then more letters appear, then so on.
This game is captivating and he is learning so much from it!
My only suggestion is that pictures of words display ONLY the picture of a word. Like if the word is WAX then show only the candle made out of wax rather than a girl holding a candle because it kinda distracts the child from the actual word they selected.
This application does a good job giving my 2 3/4 toddler the chance to pick each letter of the word. The program spells out the word letter by letter, then pronounces the word letter sound by letter sound. This suble way phonics is introduced is nice since our toddler is getting used to the letters already, and now needs to move onto the sounds.
My 18-month-old LOVES Clifford (one of two shows he will sit still through!), and he was thrilled to see Clifford & friends in action! He mastered the art of the iPod/iPhone "swipe" months earlier, buy this will improve his fine motor coordination while also introducing letters, sounds, and left to right orientation for pre literacy skills without any wrong choices. Five stars with more of Clifford & Emily Elizabeth added, and additional levels to expand interest & ability levels.
Some bad moments
The app does not fit the screen. It is cut off on the right side. I tried deleting and downloading again. Same perspective. Disappointed & dissatisfied
I thought this would give the words to be spelled but instead it gives letters and you create your own. Probably good for school age kids to practice but not for my two year old who is in the beginner stage
Simple game of selecting three letters to form words, then app paints picture. Any other games or versions must be purchased. Be careful to disable Buy authorization or children may be inadvertently buying other games. Four year old likes other games of tracing letters better. Was a 5 minute entertainment.
App crashes often and behaves a bit unpredictably sometimes. Game also seems pretty light for the cost.
I would like my money back; the app crashes every two words. Dont buy, youll just be annoyed.
Really not worth the money. PBS.org has way better free learning games. Ap didnt sp grab attention for long.
